Informative and encouraging website. Have been following a paleo diet for over a year and know what you mean in how it makes a difference in aging and the human body. I'm now back to what I weighed and felt like in my early 20s (now in my late 50s) and no longer feel my body is holding me back from doing anything I want to do: dancing, cycling, running, hiking, playing at anything. I feel ageless. You're right about finding a tribe on the internet, though ... it's disappointing to not find a shared understanding or interest among family and friends. Sad to see them experience the diseases of a modern diet and its impact, and be unable to do anything about it because they simply think I'm being ridiculous.

you wrote:
"Fruit juice has as much sugar as most soft drinks. Worse the “sugar” in juice is Fructose and we can only absorb about 25 grams of Fructose. The rest goes to the liver to be converted into fat and also creates many other problems."

Is there any reference for this information? i would like to understand better this point =)

many thanks for the userful info

Hi Rob,

I hope you are well and working on some big project. Sorry, to not see you doing any posts. I find your leads very enlightening.

Have you ever heard of Dr Jack Kruse? He has achieved massive weight lose on the paleo diet. He has developed sometime called "The Quilt", which is difficult to understand but he explains more in his posts. He has developed a Leptin Rx and CT Rx (Cold Thermogenesis) which gets down to the "how to" but the posts explains the "why":

http://jackkruse.com/my-leptin-prescription/
http://jackkruse.com/the-evolution-of-the-leptin-rx/

His bread crumbs are very hard to follow but if he is right, well, go take a look for yourself. I am still trying to digest his work.

Cheers,
Caroline

PS: Hungry for healthy bacon? Here is a recipe for salted pork belly. I will post an index of all the recipes on eatkamloops.org next week. These recipes will be good for people on the modified paleo diet:

We are not necessarily someone who must be prodded. Actually, contrary, I am the prod.
There aren't any techniques to success. It's the results of preparation, effort, and learning from failure.
